Police Officer Arthur Lopez, an eight year veteran of the Nassau County Police Department, as well as a member of the elite Emergency Service Unit, was shot and killed in the Line of Duty on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. The officers and members of Squad Company 252 extend their thoughts and prayers to his entire family, including his cousin Firefighter William McMahon of Squad 252. The wake for Officer Lopez will be held Thursday, October 25th and Friday, October 26th from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm at the Merrick Volunteer Fire Department, Merrick, NY. The funeral will be held at noon on Saturday, October 27th at St. Christopher's Church in Baldwin, NY.
